120 professionals attend IDC Roadshow of 2012

More than 120 professionals attend the IDC IT IDC IT Security, Cloud Computing, and Datacenters Transformation Roadshow 2012 held last week to better understand technology and business strategies.

The roadshow was part of a regional series of conferences organized by IDC to help IT professionals, business executives, and the investment community to make fact-based decisions on technology purchases and business strategy.

More than 120 professionals from the Maltese market attended the IDC IT Security, Cloud Computing, and Datacenters Transformation Roadshow 2012 which took place on Thursday 15 March.

The roadshow was part of a regional series of conferences organized by IDC and was supported by globally recognised local and international IT organizations and vendors, including MITA, APC by Schneider Electric, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, SG Solutions, and ICT Solutions.

Attendees included CIOs, IT directors, and department heads and decision makers from governmental bodies, financial entities, telecom companies, and other major organizations.

MITA's Chief Technology Officer, Godwin Caruana  delivered this year's opening keynote speech and the IDC keynote was provided by Andreas Rockelmann, the business development manager with IDC's Communications division.

Topics discussed throughout the roadshow included IDC’s perspective on the Cloud and what the third wave of ICT industry growth encompasses as well as security and the Cloud.

The challenges emerging in the global marketplace, the main considerations for the next generation network as well as touching on datacenters and energy efficiency were also tackled.

More than 1,000 IDC analysts provide global, regional, and local expertise on technology and industry opportunities and trends in over 100 countries.

The roadshow is mainly intended for CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, CSOs, IT directors/managers, datacenter managers, enterprise and solutions architects, government directors and administrators, and other decision makers.
