Prime Minister Joseph Muscat officially inaugurated Alert Group’s new headquarters in Qormi this morning.

The modern and innovative €1 million building houses Alert Group which includes a number of companies offering a wide range of ICT and marketing services.
Claudine Cassar, the group’s founder said that the custom-designed office block was the initial stage of the company’s plans to grow further and infiltrate the international market.

“This was money very well spent,” Cassar said as she addressed the company’s employees together with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and parliamentary secretary for economic growth Edward Zammit Lewis.

Explaining how the business started off in a living room with two borrowed PCs in 1998, Cassar said that the company was growing rapidly and “the time had come to construct a new office that met our needs and allowed for further growth and increased employment in the years to come.”

She added that the company would soon embark on a new project which will see the construction of a new €1 million data centre adjacent to the new building inaugurated today.

Cassar noted that over the last 12 months, Alert Solutions invested heavily in strengthening its presence in the Middle East and North Africa, setting up a fully-owned subsidiary in the UAE and a sales office in Tripoli, Libya.
Alert Group was already reaping the fruits of its investment, Cassar said, pointing out that the company recently signed a €1.45 million contract with a major oil and gas company in Libya.
Both Muscat and Zammit Lewis congratulated Cassar and the company’s employees and underlined the government commitment to strengthen the ICT sector, which presently makes up 5% of GDP.
