Gozo has become renown for it Christmas-time attractions and activities, making it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike for festive season.

This year, the Gozo Christmas Committee has once again put together a number of Christmas-related events spanning from 3 December to 8 January.

According to the Gozo ministry, this year’s programme includes traditions, food and religious ceremonies. “There will be live cribs in Ghajnsielem, Xaghra and Nadur. Additionally, there will be several static and mechanical cribs made from all sorts of material. Pageants, processions, concerts, religious activities, children’s events, Christmas markets and Christmas parades will also feature,” the ministry said.

Quoting last year’s official statistics from the Gozo Channel, Gozo minister Anton Refalo said that these figures indicate results from the work that is being done. In December 2015, passenger traffic grew by 45,000, and vehicle traffic grew by 15,000 when compared to the corresponding month the year before.
