New pond at Ta’ Qali National Park

Environment Minister inaugurates large pond at the Ta' Qali National Park

A new large pond has been built at the Ta’Qali National Park, as an extension of the Petting Farm.

“This pond will not only be a new attraction for the people who visit the National Park but it will also enhance the environment itself,” Environment Minister Leo Brincat said at the pond’s inauguration. “The best part about this project though is that it was designed and constructed by workers within the Park Directorate themselves.”

He added that the trees that had to be uprooted to make space for the pond have been re-planted around Ta’ Qali.

The pond measures 25 by 10 metres, is 1.30 metres deep and accommodates 325,000 litres of water.
