Flamingo lands in Salina salt pans
Uncommon visitor to Malta, with less than 10 seen each year on migration, makes restive stop in Malta
A adult greater flamingo landed in Salina salt pans Wednesday afternoon, where it is being guarded by BirdLife Malta and the ALE.
Flamingos are uncommon visitors to Malta, with less than 10 seen each year on migration, some of which decide to stay overnight. Salina salt pans is a bird sanctuary, and flamingos have taken refuge in the past.
