350 cases of breast cancer diagnosed at Mater Dei over the past year

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Breast Care Support Group in Malta and the 10th anniversary of the Group’s merge with the Europa Donna Europe Breast Cancer coalition.

350 cases of cancer were detected over the past year at Mater Dei alone.

Gertrude Abela, president of Europa Donna Malta, provided the data during an event annoucing this year’s edition of the Silhouette Walk to raise awareness for breast cancer screening.

“Raising awareness is not enough,” Abela said. “Women must commit to regular check-ups. Early detection is crucial in effectively treating the disease with the highest rate of success.”
