Air Malta flight forced to turn back as a security measure

An Air Malta flight to Manchester was forced to turn back to Malta due to a discrepancy between the number of passengers and baggage on board 

An Air Malta flight to Manchester turned back to Malta this afternoon as a security precautionary measure following a discrepancy between the number of passengers and baggage on-board.

The flight, KM146, departed at around 4pm and will now be delayed due to checks.

In a statement, the national airline said that it has launched an investigation into the incident.

“The airline gives utmost importance to the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew and apologised to its clients for any inconvenience caused,” it said.
