Man hospitalised as foreign woman found dead
A Hungarian woman was found dead in an apartment in Triq Efesu St Paul’s Bay.
The Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old Hungarian woman whose body was found in an apartment in St Paul's Bay. The police, who were called at around 11:30am, later confirmed that the woman is a foreigner.
No information is yet available on the man, who has been hospitalised with stab wounds. He was allegedly found with a pair of scissors still inside him.
In a statement, Police said that the call regarding the incident was made from a residence within the same road where the incident took place.
According to the statement, Police officers who went on site found both the man and the woman suffering from injuries. The woman was pronounced dead on site. Police said the man was rushed to hospital suffering from grievous injuries.
An autopsy on the Hungarian woman is expected to be held in the coming days, Police said.
According to reports, a 17-year-old girl and a five-year-old were at the apartment during the incident. The man is reported to be the younger girl's father.
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered, and investigations are on-going.
