Updated | Police identify woman found dead at sea

Police have identified the body of a woman who was found at sea on Saturday.

Earlier, the police requested the public's assistance to identify the woman. The woman – believed to be in her mid-thirties – was discovered on Saturday a afternoon after an AFM search mission was deployed off Dingli Cliffs. The woman was fully clothed and had been in the sea for around 12 hours before being recovered.

On Saturday, the police also discovered the body of a 53-year-old man from Birzebbugia at sea in Birzebbugia.

In a statement, the police thanked the public for its assistance after it had identified the victim.
