Man charged with stealing €17,000 worth of farm equipment

47-year-old man granted bail after pleading not guilty to stealing some €17,000 worth of vehicles and farm equipment.

A man was today charged with stealing some €17,000 worth of vehicles and farm equipment.

Raymond Galea, 47, of Marsaxlokk, was also charged with relapsing.

Standing before Magistrate Ian Farrugia, Galea pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.

Informed sources explained that Galea was arrested after police discovered some of the stolen items, including a van, tractor, as well as several tools and farm equipment.

The theft is alleged to have taken place on October 22 from a farm in Marsaskala.

Police Inspector Saviour Baldacchino prosecuted while Lawyers Franco Debono and Angie Muscat appeared for the accused.
