Elderly man in hospital after hit and run incident in Paola

District Police and RIU units are looking for a car that hit a 72-year-old man from Paola early this morning after the driver left the scene of the accident.

The accident happened at around 5.15 a.m, when the man was riding his bicycle in Triq Ħal Luqa, Paola, and was struck by a car.

The senior citizen was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, where he is still being examined by the medical team.

Parts of a car were near the scene of the accident and the police are trying to determine what type of a car it was involved.
