Man charged after police raid finds cocaine at Birzebbugia home

24-year-old Terrence Micallef was charged with possessing cocaine in circumstances which denoted that it was not for his exclusive personal use

A 24-year-old Birzebbugia resident has been released on bail after a police raid on his house last Tuesday turned up nine grams of cocaine.

Inspector Gabriel Micallef arraigned Terence Micallef, who is a ferryboat operator, on charges of possessing cocaine in circumstances which denoted that it was not for his exclusive personal use. He was also charged with drug trafficking and relapsing.

Defence lawyer Edward Gatt entered a plea of not guilty and requested bail.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona granted the accused bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €4,000 and on condition he sign a bail book twice weekly.
