Birkirkara man charged with aggravated cannabis possession

45-year-old Geoffrey Galea was accused of being in possession of cannabis plants or parts thereof and cannabis resin in circumstances that denoted they were not for his personal use

A Birkirkara resident has been released on bail this morning after denying charges of aggravated cannabis possession.

Before magistrate Neville Camilleri this morning, Inspector Frank Anthony Tabone accused 45-year-old Geoffrey Galea of being in possession of cannabis plants or parts thereof and cannabis resin - both in circumstances which indicated that they were not solely intended for his personal consumption.

Galea was also charged with relapsing.

The accused pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail against a deposit of €2,000 and a personal guarantee of €10,000.
