Man stopped for bad driving, arrested on drug offences

A man who was stopped by police because of his careless driving was arrested last night after a search of his car and his home turned up drugs and drug related paraphernalia.

Police from the Valletta district stopped the man, a 39-year-old Floriana resident, while driving carelessly along St Christopher Street, Valletta, at about 2:45am.

Upon being requested to pull over by Lascaris wharf and subsequently interrogated by the police, the man started acting suspiciously. The police then proceeded to search the man’s car and home and found the drugs.

The man was immediately arrested and is being questioned.

Police investigations are ongoing.
