Police identify Marsaxlokk toilet roll thief and Birkirkara litter lout

Investigations are underway after two eyebrow-raising incidents of antisocial behaviour were captured on CCTV in 3 days

Police say they have identified the perpetrators behind two recent incidents of individuals lacking in civic sense.

In a statement released this afternoon, the Community and Media Relations Unit of the police stated that investigations were underway into disposal of waste at a Birkirkara bring-in site and the looting of a public convenience at Vendome Tower by an unidentified lout on September 10th.

There was public outcry after a video was posted on Facebook by Marsaxlokk local councillor Horace Gauci showing a yob forcing open toilet roll holders in the public convenience to steal two toilet rolls.

That incident occured just 3 days after a shirtless, elderly man was captured on CCTV walking to a bring-in site at Tal-Qattus in Birkirkara and dumping two broken plastic chairs, instead of using the free bulky refuse collection service.

In both cases, the persons involved have been identified and are being investigated.
