A man was granted bail after pleading not guilty to charges of threatening third parties with violence and carrying a firearm outside the address where it was registered as kept.

The Ghajnsielem resident appeared before a Gozo court, accused of threatening third parties, causing them to fear that violence would be used against them or their property. In a statement released this afternoon, the police said the unnamed 36-year-old was also charged with carrying a firearm outside the address where it was registered as kept.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. Presiding magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri granted bail under several conditions.

Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri led the prosecution.
