Man suffers grievous injuries as car crash pushes stationary vehicle onto him

A man was hospitalised this morning after a traffic collision in Qormi pushed a stationary van forward, hitting the victim

A 68-year-old Hamrun man was grievously injured this morning in a sequence of events caused by a traffic collision in Qormi.

According to a police statement, the man was standing in front of a stationary van at about 6:40am on Triq San Bastjan when a Kia Avella, driven by a 69-yearold Qormi resident crashed into the van – an Isuzu Elf.

As a result of the impact, the van was jolted forward, striking the victim.

An ambulance was called on site and conveyed the man to Mater Dei Hosptial for treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing.
