Woman dies diving in Ghajnsielem

A 64-year-old German woman died in Gozo earlier this afternoon, after struggling underwater.

Police were called to the area at around 2:30pm, when the woman found herself in difficulty, whilst diving at Bajja tal-Fessej, just off Ghajnsielem.

The woman was brought to shore, but was certified dead at the scene.

Magistrate Paul Coppini is leading an inquiry into the death.
