Court jails man for three years over falsification of cheques

The accused pleaded guilty to falsifying seven cheques issued by his former employer

The court this morning sentenced a 32-year-old man to three years in prison after he admitted to the falsification of cheques.

Timothy Forace admitted to the falsification of documents and theft telling the court that he had done so because he was threatened by third parties.

The court heard how Timothy Forace was battling a drug addiction as well as gambling problems, both of which, he was receiving help for.

The man, who is now unemployed, pleaded guilty to cashing four falsified cheques, and of writing a further three. The cheques were issued from his employer’s account.  

He was sentenced to three years imprisonment with the court urging authorities at the Corradino Correctional Facility to help him overcome his drug and gambling addictions, while also teaching him a trade for him to find employment after serving his time.
