Two women hit by car in Marsaskala

The incident took place at 8:30am with one of the two women certified as having sustained grievous injuries

Two women were hit by a car as they were walking through Triq Sant’Anna in Marsaskala this morning, according to the police.

The incident was reported at roughly 8:30 this morning, and from preliminary investigations it transpired that an Opel Astra, which was being driven by a 37-year-old woman residing in Marsaskala, “for some reason” hit the two women, said the police in a statement.

The two victims, also residing in Marsaskala, were aged 59 and 73.

Both were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where the 73-year-old woman was certified as having sustained grievous injuries. The other women suffered light injuries.
