No bail for man arrested with drugs in Paceville

A court has remanded in custody a man caught carrying drugs in Paceville.

Kheyre Herbe Mohamed from Somalia was arraigned before magistrate Ian Farrugia this morning. He had been arrested near a taxi stand in the entertainment district last night and found to be carrying 4 sachets of marijuana and 22 empty sachets.

Inspector Joseph Scerri charged the man with aggravated possession of marijuana in circumstances which denoted it was not for his personal use.

Mohamed pleaded not guilty to the charges. Bail was not granted.

Lawyer Raisa Colombo was legal aid to the accused.
