Police arrest Bulgarian fugitive after days of observation

A Bulgarian fugitive was apprehended on Tuesday by the police after days of observation by the Criminal Intelligence Unit.

In a statement, the police said the man was arrested on the strength of a European Arrest Warrant issued by Bulgarian authorities. He is wanted to face charges related to a number of offences, including damage and destruction, injuries inflicted on third parties and offences against public order, amongst others.

The Criminal Intelligence Unit forms part of the ENFAST, which is responsible for tracking down criminals on the run.

The man is expected to be charged in court in the coming days.
