A man who caused grievous injuries to his wife’s eye in a domestic argument has been remanded in custody this morning.

Police Inspector Hubert Cini arraigned the 65-year-old man from Zabbar before magistrate Audrey Demicoli, accusing him of having grievously injured the woman, attacking her, as well as threatening and insulting her.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the Paola playground. The woman is understood to still be in hospital after suffering severe eye injuries, allegedly caused by a blow dealt by the accused.
