Motorcyclist injured in Balzan crash

A motorcyclist has been grievously injured in a traffic accident in Balzan.

The incident occurred at 7:30am in Vjal De Paule, the police said.

They said an investigation had found that a 40-year-old woman from Balzan, who was driving an Opel Astra, for reasons unknown, collided with a motorcycle being driven by a 62-year-old man from Balzan.

An ambulance took the victim to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment, where he was later certified to have been suffering from grievous injuries.

A police investigation is underway.
