Three cars damaged in Birkirkara blaze

Three cars and a motorcycle were damaged in Birkirkara last night after one of them caught fire.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the fire in Triq il-Vittmi tal-Gwerra in Birkirakara was reported at 5.20am.

They said a Peugeot that was parked in the street went up in flames for an as yet unknown reason, leading to a number of vehicles also parked in the vicinity also catching fire.

In addition to the Peugeot, the police said that two other cars, a Nissan and a Ford, as well as motorcycle were also burnt.

The police could not confirm whether the blaze was the result of an arson attack but said that a magisterial inquiry was ongoing.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
