Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will take part in the annual 'State of the Union' debate with MEPs

In the presence of all commissioners, the House will discuss ways forward to shape the future of a strong European Union which delivers on citizens’ expectations.

External and internal security, jobs and growth, migration and international trade are likely issues to be raised during the three-hour debate. Political group leaders will set out the priorities they want the EU to deliver on before the June 2019 European elections and they will take stock of the Juncker Commission’s achievements midway through its mandate.
