Updated | 70-year-old man seriously injured in Selmun hill accident

A traffic accident between a car and a bus has led to the car's driver being seriously injured and the temporary closure of Selmun hill (St Paul’s Bay).

12:02 Police said the accident was caused when a Subaru, driven by a 70-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay, was involved in an accident with a bus, driven by a 30-year-old man from Mosta.

Police said that personnel from the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene and were able to extract the 70-year-old man and rush him to hospital.

The man was then certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

The road has been opened to traffic as normal.

10:00am, police advised drivers to use alternative routes until it can be reopened.
