Evacuated residents return home after tower crane became unstable due to winds

Qormi residents returned to their home after they had been evacuated after strong winds shifted parts of a tower crane.

According to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), residents called the 138 helpline over the unstable tower crane in Triq l-Imdina

The BCA, OHSA, and Civil Protection Department (CPD) worked together to bring down the tower crane’s control cabinet.

The authorities also ensured that construction material close by was removed as a precaution.

The BCA said that residents were evacuated just in case, and the situation returned to normal after it was determined that the danger had been averted.

No injuries were reported during the ordeal.
