‘One-stop-shop’ in Gozo for disabled persons
The Gozitan federation for disabled persons has set up an office that offers services for persons with disability and their families living in Gozo.
The Gozitan federation for disabled persons has received funds from the Ministry for Gozo to cover the annual expenses of the services it offers.
The federation is responsible of a one-stop-shop that offers services for the families of persons with disability living in Gozo.
The services offered at the Centru Santa Marta include those offered by various professional, government and voluntary organisations.
During the presentation of the funds, Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono said that over the years, the services offered have improved substantially.
Every day, around 30 persons visit the day centre that is offered daily on weekdays. Apart from therapy services, the centre also provides training in personal abilities as to help the persons lead an independent life.
