Malta up two places in tourism competitiveness index

Malta placed 24th in the tourism competitiveness index published by the World Economic Forum, the government has noted.

Pointing out that Malta gained two positions over the 2011 survey, the government said that the "positive result followed positive developments in the sector over the last year, with 2013 registering the largest number ever of tourist visits."

In 2013, record 1.51 million tourists visited Malta between January and November.
