Bail for recidivist in attempted robbery from garage

Charged with causing damage to property, stealing licence plates, driving without insurance, and stealing cash.

The Magistrate’s Court presided by Doreen Clarke granted bail to Glen Borg, 35, from Tarxien who stood accused of attempting to steal from a garage in Attard the equivalent of a sum exceeding €2329.37, on 24 March 2011 to the detriment of Antoine Attard and Brian Cardona.

He also stood charged with causing damage to their property, having two stolen license plates in his possession, driving an unlicensed car without an insurance cover and being a recidivist.

In his defence, Dr Arthur Azzopardi and Dr Emanuel Mallia asked for fingerprints to be taken. In the meantime he was granted bail against a deposit of €2,000 and a personal guarantee of €10,000. Inspectors Daniel Zammit and Elton Taliana prosecuted.
