Former Bondiplus presenter Lou Bondì is being paid €4,500 a month in his role at the Foundation for National Celebrations, where he acts as a strategic communications consultant.

The Sunday Times of Malta published details of Bondì’s contract after filing a Freedom of Information request. Previously, the Office of the Prime Minister had refused to divulge details on Bondì’s engagement.

Apart the monthly salary, Bondì is also given an annual retainer of €8,200 to cover his operational expenditure which means that he earns an annual salary of €54,000.

The newspaper also reports that the contract can be renewed for another year and that he is engaged on a position of trust basis.

In an interview on NET TV in 2011, Lou Bondì – who at that time was still producing and presenting current affairs programmes on TVM – had declared that he always voted for the Nationalist Party. He added that he intends to do so in the forthcoming 2013 general election “unless other circumstances force me to change my mind,” Bondì had declared.
