Healthcare to remain ‘free’ as MP asks over Gozo hospital privatisation plans

Gozitan MP Chris Said asks government to guarantee that no part of the Gozo General Hospital will be privatised

The government has not denied that sections of the Gozo General Hospital may be privatised or that a private operator may be engaged.

This evening in parliament, Gozitan MP Chris Said asked Health Minister Konrad Mizzi to guarantee that Gozo’s hospital will not be privatised.

In his reply, Mizzi said that the government was “determined” to continue improving services related to healthcare and that such services would remain free of charge.
