PM non-committal on Alan Camilleri’s position at Malta Enterprise after John Dalli’s claims
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi did not want to commit himself or reply to questions by Labour weekly 'Kullħadd' about the EU Commissioner John Dalli's calls in a MaltaToday interview, for the investigation of on those who allegedly "plotted to have him "politically assassinated”.
Gonzi reportedly failed to answer questions “on the tenability of the position of Alan Camilleri as CEO of Malta Enterprise, the Government agency responsible from the promotion of foreign investment in Malta, in view of the fact that Dalli was asking for Alan Camilleri to be investigated,” Kullħadd reported.
When Gonzi was asked by Kullħadd on this issue, his curt reply was that he “did not have any additional comments to make on those that he had already said”.
Kullħadd also reported how the Camilleri brothers “in no way whatsoever reacted to the charges made against them by Dalli.
On the other hand, Lou Bondi used the first part of his first weekly programme on PBS last Monday night to reply to Dalli’s accusations against him. While denying the accusations, Bondi invited the EU Commissioner “to sue for libel”, Kullħadd reported.
“Ironically Bondi never organised a programme on (Joe) Zahra’s false report, probably to avoid the embarrassing situation for him in view of the fact that Zahra used to form part of the same programme’s production team”, Kullħadd concluded.
