In the Press: Petrol station owners up in arms over Enemed 'discrimination'

Only ten of the roughly 80 petrol stations around the islands have been chosen by state-owned fuel import company Enemed to sell a new type of 'super unleaded' petrol, sparking the ire of other station owners. The GRTU will be requesting a court injunction against the move on behalf of these owners.

Two inmates at Corradino Correctional Facility required medical treatment at hospital after contracting influenza, with one said to be in a coma as a result. Prison officials are taking precautions to ensure other inmates and staff are not exposed to the disease.

The government and the University of Malta have signed an agreement, safeguarding the medical school's new student intake ahead of the opening of two competing learning institutions - Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Australian High Commissioner Jane Lambert said she expects a new chapter in the story of Australia Hall to play out this year. The hall, which is currently in disrepair, was inaugurated in 1916 and marked the contributions of Anzac troops to WWI, some of whom stayed in Malta to convalesce.
