Prison inmates expressed shock yesterday in the wake of a fiery press conference delivered by Michelle Muscat, who defended a scheme that left inmates as yet unpaid for sewing work they had done last year, to the tune of €16,000.

Access to the airport was restricted yesterday after a road block check by explosive-detecting dogs flagged a suspicious suitcase. Further investigations revealed this was a false alarm.
