In an exercise carried out by the newsroom, journalists were told that the earliest appointment was almost a year away. The Medical Association of Malta’s general secretary Martin Balzan said that the reduction of certain waiting lists is “just an illusion”, as it is merely the lack of diagnoses due to missed appointments that lead to the perception of shorter waiting time for other procedures.
