Three people are being charged with match fixing in connection with last March’s UEFA championship qualifier against Montenegro. The three have been summoned to appear in court on 2 June.

Following a violent outbreak during a peaceful protest by Civil Society, one of the main aggressors has been identified as Twanny Agius, father of deputy and whip nationalist David Agius. What sparked the conflict was an obscene sign the protestors were carrying which read “PL PN same shit, different government.”

The newspaper covers a speech delivered by opposition leader Simon Busuttil in Poala. He reiterated that in the lack of a sound government, the PN is there to provide an honest political alternative.

The Malta Independent

The headline of The Malta Independent talks about illegal online gambling platforms based in Malta exposed by Italian police. Naming the operation Master Bet, police in Catania, Sicily have so far interrogated around 107 people about the fraud which renders millions of euros each month.
