New York Best to replace ‘Last Supper’ advert with generic poster

NYB owner Tommy Diacono says controversy over Last Supper poster has exhausted him and that he just wants to move on

New York Best has pulled down its controversial poster at the Msida skatepark depicting Jesus and his apostles eating fast food, and will replace it with a “generic” advert.

The fast food joint’s owner Tommy Diacono told MaltaToday that he had miscalculated how much the original poster would offend people and that he now wants to put the issue behind him.

“I’ve offended too many people in this past week and although many people have told me to put the poster back, this situation has simply exhausted me and I just want to move on now,” he said.

He reiterated that he will not seek legal action against Moviment Patrijotti Maltin leader Henry Battistino and candidate Desmond Falzon for ripping down the poster.

“I want to give an example of how to turn the other cheek, and I also just want to move on from this issue,” he said.
