Maltatoday.com.mt is Malta’s fastest growing website

MaltaToday on Sunday overtakes Independent on Sunday once again.

Alexa.com, the reputed world ranking domain for portal sites has confirmed www.maltatoday.com.mt as the fastest growing website in the Maltese Islands. It ranks at 23 in Malta up from 41 in August of last year. It stands as the fifth most visited Maltese website in Malta.

MaltaToday is second only to the Times, but unlike the Times portal which has been around for over seven years, www.maltatoday.com.mt has only been in existence for nine months.

Di-ve.com dropped to from 28 to 47th place, Maltarightnow dropped 365 from 188 and Maltastar to 178 from 90.

Managing Editor Saviour Balzan said: “I have high hopes that we will be close to being the top portal in a very short time.  We have only one agenda: news, news and news. For us news content, unbridled and uncensored is king.

“And for the very first time the advertising agencies  cannot argue against our products by referring to erroneous media surveys such as the one organised by Mediawarehouse.”

“Audience statistics on our portal are for all to see.  Our newspaper sales in MaltaToday Sunday and Wednesday edition and our sister newspaper Illum are also on the increase unlike other print media.  In 2010, all other newspapers recorded a decrease in sales according to a survey carried out in January 2010 by Mediatoday.  The Sunday Times dropped by 10.8%, lt-Torca by 5.9%, Independent on Sunday by 2.1% and Kullhadd by 1.5%.   MaltaToday on Sunday print media continues to surpass Independent on Sunday and the Labour newspaper KullHadd.
