Strong winds force Gozo Channel ferries to take route behind Comino

Gale force winds are sweeping across the islands as Gozo Channel warns customers of delays as a result of the bad weather

The meteorological office has issued a gale force warning as winds are expected to reach force eight in the exposed areas of the Maltese islands.

The Gozo Channel company announced that for this reason, its ships would pass behind Comino and warned passengers to expect delays in scheduled trips.

The sea is choppy and strong winds are expected for the rest of the day, accompanied by bouts of heavy rain. The wind is predominantly Westerly and North-Westerly.

The lowest temperature expected today is 11 degrees.
