Video | Malta engages with NATO under pretext of 9/11 ‘counter-terror’ mandate
A mandate - in operation since the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States – is seemingly the pretext for Malta to be engaged in cooperating with the Trans Atlantic Alliance that has increased its presence in the Mediterranean in the wake of the Libya crisis.
While hosting a number of aircraft from NATO nations, Malta is also cooperating with NATO’s so called ‘eyes in the skies’ as its sophisticated Awac spy-planes have since last Saturday been flying high above the Maltese skies and even asking the Malta tower for “information”.
