Man charged with assassination attempt on US President

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez was charged for attempting to kill US President Barack Obama, or any one of his staff, last week.

The 21-year-old man was charged with trying to kill the US President, or any one of his staff, after Ortega-Hernandez fired two shots at the White House.

At the time of the incident Obama was away, but it is believed that his daughters were in the building.

The fired bullets cracked the windows of the Obamas' living quarters.

The man was arrested on Wednesday in Pennyslyvania and will be taken to Washington to face his charges. Ortega-Hernandez is facing a charge which could lead him to life imprisonment.
