Pipe bomb explodes in New York bus terminal near Times Square
A pipe bomb strapped to a man was detonated in New York • Nobody, apart from suspect believed to be hurt
A man who had a pipe bomb strapped to him was injured after the device is believed to have been detonated prematurely in a tunnel at the Port Authority bus terminal near Times Square.
Initial reports say the suspect, a 27-year-old, was the only one injured in the explosion. The man has been detained.
Police closed off the area, including three subway lines. The blast happened at 7.30am (local time), a busy period for the bus terminal.
