Best of British! Countdown to foodie trade exhibition, Taste of Britain

It’s now just days until foodie trade show, Taste of Britain, throws open its doors to present food enthusiasts with an exciting range of modern, British food to sample and discover.

The trade show, which will take place on 22 March at the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, has been organised especially for Malta by some of the UK’s top associations. It is targeting local retailers, restaurateurs and hospitality association members, and aims to spark their excitement about the ever-developing range of quality British products.

“We’re thrilled to be coming to Malta to showcase all these fantastic items,” explains Elsa Fairbanks, Director of the Food and Drink Exporters Association. “Malta has an excellent history with British products, so this is a chance for people to get a hands-on taster of the way the industry has developed.”

The tradeshow has attracted some of the British food industry’s biggest and most prestigious brands. There will be a variety of stands, including those showcasing British cheeses, natural and herbal teas, chilled lamb and beef, sausages, gourmet sauces and well-known grocery brands. Visitors will be able to meet with the exhibitors and to taste many of the products on show.

Meanwhile, aside from tasters and meet-and-greets, there will be a butchering demonstration by one of the exhibitors, as well as a cooking presentation by renowned celebrity chef Sophie Grigson, who will be rustling up some scrumptious recipes using British lamb and beef.

“This event truly promises to be a celebration of the very ‘best of British’, with an excellent range of premium products that have really made their mark on the international food industry. It has changed so much over the years to become increasingly international and cosmopolitan; food culture is now a huge part of life in Britain and we want the Maltese market to understand why.

“We are really looking forward to showcasing the very best of what we have to offer modern food enthusiasts, and to rekindling the bond between the Maltese and British food cultures and industries.”
