A Super 5 player becomes Malta's newest millionaire

Malta’s newly crowned millionaire, claimed the grand Super5 Jackpot of €1,093,944.59 on Wednesday evening, after matching his lucky quintet to the winning Super5 numbers, 4-6-18-28-37, making him the first person to win this stunning Jackpot with National Lottery plc.

The lucky player who purchased his winning ticket in Fgura, claimed his prize from the August 17th draw, at the National Lottery plc headquarters, on Friday morning. He said that he and his family routinely check their lottery tickets on Wednesday night, but this evening was far from ordinary.

“I like to select a combination of set numbers, synonymous to life events, whilst occasionally changing a digit or two for good measure” he explained.

“I always check the Super5 draw that my relative writes down religiously, every Wednesday evening. It did not occur to me at the time, that these were the winning numbers.”

“It wasn’t until later that night, after double checking the results on the website, that it dawned on me that I may very well be the winner! I was checking the prize distribution first, hoping for a small win and was stunned to discover that all the numbers matched. I just could not believe it!” he exclaimed.

The Super5 lucky contestant still plans on working, however the prize money will help him advance his career and his family’s future investments.

National Lottery plc congratulates the player for hitting this tremendous jackpot.

The next Super5 jackpot of €250,000 is on Wednesday 24th August at 8:40pm after the TVM news. Players will also have a second chance to win €100,000 with Super5 PLUS for an additional €1, whilst keeping the same chosen five numbers for Super5.
