Wanderers look to return to winning ways

Zebbug can move out of drop zone with win today

Stephen Azzopardi’s side will look to improve on their recent run of form when they take on strugglers Zebbug in the second game on Friday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Sliema have been somewhat underwhelming so far this season despite being in sixth place, and any slim hopes they might have had of potentially securing a place in Europe, were all ended last week when they lost a direct clash with Balzan.

Zebbug have of late produced some very mixed displays and their confidence might be at the very lowest after suffering three straight defeats.  Zebbug however have the opportunity to move out of the drop zone with a win against the blues, and will certainly be looking for a positive result which would surely remove some weight off the players and Coach which has bared on for quite some time.

Sliema will be without the suspended Pedro Calcado who is suspended for two matches.

In the first match between the two teams this season, Sliema edged Zebbug 1-0 with a goal from Mark Scerri; while Zebbug had the better off their opponents in the second round beating them 2-1 with goals coming from  Mauricio Britto and Carlo Monti for Zebbug, and Djumo for the Wanderers.
