Marinated Asian-style tuna

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh yellow-fin tuna steaks
  • 6 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 6 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated.
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Juice of 4 limes
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • Salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons sultanas
  • 6 tablespoons sesame seeds

For 2 to 4 hours, marinate the tuna in the coriander, ginger, lime juice, soy sauce, honey, wasabi, sesame seeds, oil, salt and pepper.

Heat a griddle on a medium flame and lightly sear the tuna steaks.  

Place the steaks on a bed of avocadoes, and add the sultanas. Reserve some of the marinade and slowly pour it over the tuna steaks while hot.
