Konrad Mizzi reaches out to youth with Tattingers party

There are those who plan a bingo night or a day trip to Sicily… and then there are those who plan a night of booze at the Rabat nightclub

Bingo nights, coffee mornings, and day trips to Sicily… these are all typical tried and tested means for Maltese politicians to reach out to their constituents.

However, the canvassers of OPM minister Konrad Mizzi have decided to try out a more vibrant formula targeted at the youth – a party at the Tattingers nightclub in Rabat.

The event will be held on 17 February, and entertainment will be provided by top local DJs – including JJoy and Joseph Armani – and only those aged 17 and over will be allowed in.

Such events are not new among politicians and candidates, who each try to seek the more attractive activities, which they think would go down well with the electorate (read: pig roast and beer).

Mizzi was last year stripped off his energy and health portfolios after he was implicated in the Panama Papers revelations. However, he has remained in Cabinet as a ‘minister within the Office of the Prime Minister’ and has retained oversight over energy affairs.
