[WATCH] How feelings change when targets shift
In his latest video-blog, MediaToday managing editor Saviour Balzan speaks of politicians’ hypocrisy
It’s difficult to express solidarity with someone who chose to sit and watch whilst others were being attacked, MediaToday managing editor Saviour Balzan has argued.
In his latest video-blog, Balzan said that many in the PN were expressing their frustration that columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia was “targeting one of their own”.
“They are now condemning her writings… because it’s one of their own who’s being attacked. But their changed position simply exposes their hypocrisy,” he said.
Balzan reminded that the PN had jumped on Caruana Galizia’s bandwagon in recent elections.
As the PN prepares to elect its new leader, Caruana Galizia exposed one of the candidates for holding a bank account in an offshore jurisdiction – a claim which led Adrian Delia to sue her for libel.
The other three candidates insisted that they condemn personal attacks, although Frank Portelli went as far as to declare that “this blogger will be dumped into the rubbish bin of history”.
